This sunset painting is all about passion and intensity. The saturated reds, oranges, and yellows seem to leap from the canvas, creating a sense of warmth and energy. These colours—often associated with excitement, joy, and love—infuse the scene with a vibrant, almost pulsating atmosphere. 

This painting began as a classroom demonstration for one of my oil-painting workshops. During the lesson, I focused on the sky, showing students how I block in large shapes and then blend colours to create a smooth transition. I later completed the water back in the studio.
