My aim with this painting was to create a sunset painting that was majestic and inspirational. It was an attempt to live in the moment and appreciate the natural beauty of the world around us.

I also wanted to create a painting that made the viewer feel both calm, content and happy. To create this affect I used blues and yellows. I used blues as they are low arousal colours that are known to lower blood pressure and make the viewer feel calmer. I used yellows because we associate the colour with happiness.
